Corridor Mode is an intelligent, energy-saving feature integrated into LED drivers. It is specifically designed for areas requiring 24/7 low-level ambient lighting that are frequently left unoccupied, such as corridors, stairwells, underground parking garages, and warehouses.

Simply put, it acts as a "breathing" energy-saving assistant: it maintains a dim standby glow when the area is empty and automatically ramps up to full brightness when motion is detected.

1. How Does It Work? (Core Mechanism)

Corridor Mode typically operates in tandem with an external motion sensor (such as a microwave or PIR sensor). The brightness profile generally consists of three distinct phases:

Unoccupied State (Standby / Background Level): When no presence is detected, the luminaire does not turn off completely. Instead, it remains at a pre-defined low light level (typically 10% or 20%). This provides essential safety lighting while significantly reducing power consumption.

Occupied State (Full Output): As soon as the sensor detects a person or vehicle entering the zone, the LED driver swiftly (or smoothly) ramps up the light output to 100%.

Switch-off Delay (Fade-down Recovery): Once the area is vacated and the sensor's preset hold time (e.g., 1 minute) elapses, the driver does not abruptly cut the light. Instead, it smoothly fades down back to the initial 10% or 20% standby level.


2. Core Features & Technical Highlights

1/0V or DALI Signal Control: The driver features built-in control algorithms. The motion sensor only needs to output a standard mains voltage switch signal (230V ON/OFF) to the control input. The driver automatically recognizes this signal and toggles between "Full Output" and "Standby Level," eliminating the need for complex central management systems.

Soft On / Soft Off (Smooth Dimming): The transition between light levels is seamless rather than abrupt. A smooth dimming profile (e.g., a 1–2 second fade-in and a multi-second fade-out) enhances visual comfort and prolongs the operational lifespan of both the LED module and the driver by avoiding current spikes.

Configurable Parameters (Available in High-End Drivers):

Standby Dim Level: Can be customized to 10%, 20%, or 30% depending on project requirements.
